There are four (4) NFL playoff rounds: Wildcard, Divisional, Conference and Super Bowl. Prior to each of the first two rounds of the NFL playoffs (the Wild Card and Divisional Playoff rounds), you will choose a starting lineup of eight (8) NFL players. You will have 300 units to "spend" assembling your team. Prior to the Conference Championship round, you will only be allowed to change 4 players from the previous week's lineup, with the other 4 players carrying over. You will be allowed to change only 2 players prior to the Super Bowl, with 6 players carrying over from the previous week. Your challenge is to select players who will advance deep into the playoffs.

Prior to the Wild Card round, the pool of available NFL players will be selected and each will be assigned a value (in "units") by the Administrator. Players' values will not change throughout the playoffs.

Feel free to join...the overall winner out of all entries wins a trip to the 2009 Super Bowl. The chances are small, but what the heck, right?

NFL Fury "Buddy Group"

I'm in as Moon1.
I forgot to mention, since I started the group, you have to take me to the Super Bowl if you win the Grand Prize. Smile

I got in before you mentioned that!! I'm in under the grandfather clause - if I win, I'm taking my Gramps!

Guess I should've edited into the original post.

If I can't go, Gramps is most assuredly a suitable replacement.
Only three people willing to give this a shot?
meh...too much thinking!

I always thought it would be interesting to have a fantasy playoff during the actual playoffs. Have a redraft at the end of each round of the playoffs. At least that way, you get the whole regular season of significant games (minus week 17, give a fantasy bye week there) and you know all the players will be playing their damndest in the playoffs.

Obviously you'd have a smaller player-pool, but the number of teams drafting those players would decrease at the same rate.
Im in, it looks like fun. The way it set up makes it easy, they have a drop down list to pick your players and it automaticially keeps track of how many units you have left to spend, you can toggle with it all you want. If Terry Collins starts for the Titans he is IN as my QB, Geaux Terry Collins!
First round is easy to make picks. I have a feeling the values of some of the players in the later rounds will be higher.
There is still time to get in on this, its going to be fun!
Yeah I'm in, looks fun.

Low point values in the Wildcard Round. We'll see what happens in the Divisional Round.

Still can't pick the team for next weekend...should be some much higher "Unit Prices" in this round!

Also, if you're in any other groups, feel free to join this one too. You can be in more than one.

Wow- in the lead with a whopping 70 points! We suck! LOL!
The overall leaders are in the 120 point range. That's funny.
Dayum im sucking, but I did start Terry Collins and it wouldnt let me change him out on Saturday lol.
Salaries are available for the Divisional Round. Wow...the players who didn't play in the Wildcard Round certainly are more expensive (Brady cost 103 units???).

Have fun!

4 Go Gettas 66

I had to replace four players, which made me keep Boss as my TE. Now I have three Giants, three Packers, and two Patriots. If the Bolts win, I'm in trouble! If the Patriots win, I'll be down one player in the next round...not too bad.

I had to replace Mooning, Freddie Taylor, Wayne, Witten and Josh Scobee. That would be 5!
I guess I'll leave Witten since there are only 2 or 3 tight ends that you can guarantee points from and Gates probably isn't playing. This is tough - I didn't realize I had to pay attention to the units AND the players' team!
I realized it, just wanted to spread it out. I'd rather have 5 players going in the Championship round that 2 or 3 if the favorites are out.

Also, with both games this weekend being outdoor game in the north, the kicking game could be greatly affected. If I'd have thought about that, I probably wouldn't have changed my kicker and changed out TE instead (not that passing games will be much better).
Here it is going into the Super Bowl:

NFL Fury Overall Standings
Rank Team Points
1 Moon1 238
2 Bionic Pain 226
3 Predarat 212
4 Go Gettas 82

Things just got a little tougher; we can only change 2 slots going into the Super Bowl! I'm screwed!
