plain and simple
because he...?
1. Whines like a baby
2. Yells excessively on numerous occasions for no reason
a. See yelling at ref when they called encroachment on us late in the game.
b. See yelling at ref when they called a personal foul on Haynesworth
c. See yelling at Chambers after he threw a bad ball which got picked by Finny
d. See yelling from numerous other occassions in different games
3. Talks smack to players better than him when in reality, without his teammates, he'd be nothing. I mean really, I could've completed those passes yesterday with ease. I believe it was Champ Bailey who said it best: you haven't been around or done enough in this league yet to be talking smack for no reason. Guys with class don't need excessive smack talk for every little play - they can let their play do the talking. Rivers, though, isn't good enough to let his play do the talking for him.
I've never had a problem with Rivers myself.
He's pretty obnoxious, too. I don't particularly care for him myself.
He definitely wears his emotions on his sleeve, but he doesn't really bother me.

He doesn't talk smack every play.

25-7 as a starter.

Bullock said it best when he said that TEN excuted the game plan against SD. They wanted to have Rivers beat them if he could. Bullock said "He did that".

Damn! I thought you were talking about Vince for a minute.

Anyone could have completed passes to WRs that were open by 20 yards.

^ Yeah I already said that ^

i mean he did make 1 or two semi-difficult throws i guess...
Dan Dierdorf's 2nd to last quote of the telecast was vindicating:

"And Philip Rivers feels the need to get a yelling match with the fans..."

I saw that. Did you see when he threw a low ball that got deflected and he was yelling at someone for it like it was their fault?

I never minded him until what I've seen this season. There's no excuse for yelling at fans, giving them the bird, etc during a game.
i wouldn't say that i'm too fond of him but after all of the hits and getting "owned" moments he had with our dlinemen in december occurred, i found it fair to show him SOME respect. I mean, each time we played them, we've knocked out everyone around him and made him beat us which he has done. I watched that playoff game closely, most of the time we kept your standard 7 in the box defense which means we had the opportunity to double team atleast ONE receiver not named gates yet both jackson and chambers torched our really good defense. I'm not defending the guy but wow he has got to be doing something right, he's brought his team through the playoffs thus far with a crappy coach and some nicked up/ineffective playmakers.

Oh and where are the chargers fans, you guys can't possibly be agreeing with all of this bashing..

That's prob. because he never yelled at you before. Tongue

Rivers needs another strong-minded, vocal leader on the offense to even him out.

Rivers has never flipped the fans off.

Oh, I saw a couple fans on the Colts board saying he did. That's fine, still doesn't excuse jawing off at the fans.

There's some dolt fans I'd like to flip off.............
