Wow. I always like Rien Long and wish the injury bug hadn't bitten him during his playing time.
Hope he's able to recover from these, more serious, injuries!
probably right after it started the freezing rain last night/this morning...it was slick out there...
here's to a speedy recovery...
Anyone heard anything about the extent of his injuries? I hope he'll be OK.
Wow I hope its ok. We had a salt truck get flipped here because of the freezing rain so I bet your right clint.
He's in critical condition from what they are saying. Prayers go out for him and his family.

His 28-year-old passenger, Wesley Stephens, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
News 2 has confirmed Long and Stephens had been at the Tin Roof on Demonbreun...
... Street, where Stephens is a manager, just before the accident.
In a statement, the Titans said, “We are aware of Rien’s accident and several members of the organization visited him last night. We would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to Rien and his family during this difficult time. Any questions about his condition will be handled by the hospital and Rien’s family.”

but here's the first story:
wo people were injured in an accident Monday night in Nashville.
It happened at the Broadway on-ramp to Interstate 40 West, at about 11:45 p.m.
Police said the driver took the exit ramp too fast and flipped over.
Medics took the driver, a 26-year-old man, to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
His passenger was also injured, though not as seriously.
The driver’s name and his passenger’s were not known.
Been a horribly rough past couple of years for him. Blew out his Achilles, had it get infected, and thought he might lose his foot. Then when he thought he'd be able to get a chance to come back and play we released him.
All that on top of this...
I hope he recovers and can get back to life. The poor guy just hasn't had any luck.
Sorry to hear this news, hoping he pulls through this. Prayers to him and his family.
Just read about this in my newspaper. Thoughts go out to him and his family. Hears to a speedy recovery.
I hope he makes a full recovery.... Good luck Rien...

Rien Long told his former Washington State University coaches he was on the road back, intent on a longer stay in the NFL after suffering career-threatening injuries.
But Tuesday, the former Outland Trophy winner from Anacortes was locked in a different battle: Fighting to stay alive.
Long, 26, was listed in critical condition after he crashed his 2005 Ford Mustang late Monday night near downtown Nashville, Tenn., injuring him and a passenger.
Police said Long was likely speeding taking an on-ramp to Interstate-40 when the car slid, went up an embankment and slammed into a concrete wall on the driver’s side.
The car rolled over and fell back on the road on its roof. Passenger Wesley Stephens, 28, escaped with minor injuries.
Long was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His family arrived from Anacortes early Tuesday.
Heard on the radio this morning he is still listed as critical.
I remember this guy. God bless him. What happened to this guy? Thought he was still i football?
Horrible rash of injuries, followed by a staph infection after a surgery that nearly cost him his foot. The Titans cut him/reached an injury settlement with him late in camp last year.

Updated: Jan23, 2008, 03:17 PM EST NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Former Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Rien Long has improved to stable condition after he crashed his sports car into a rock wall while driving onto an interstate.
Nashville Police said the 26-year-old Long was driving too fast down an on-ramp to Interstate 40 near downtown just before midnight Monday.
Vanderbilt University Medical Center officials say Long's condition has steadily improved over the last 24 hours.
His 2005 Ford Mustang started sliding at the bottom of the ramp, went up the embankment and hit a rock wall on the driver's side before rolling over onto the roof.
A passenger, 28-year-old Wesley Stephens, was treated for non-critical injuries.
